BASED ON THE FIRST FULL-LENGTH ANIMATED
FILM:
SNOW WHITE ,BOLDLY SIGNED BY WALT
DISNEY
(DISNEY STUDIOS).Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
New York: Grosset & Dunlap,(1938).Oblong octavo,
original half blue cloth and pictorial boards, original
matching dust jacket.
Early book adaptation of the Disney’s groundbreaking,
first full-length animated film, boldly signed by him in blue
grease pencil on the first page of text.
Snow White graced the screen in 1937, the very first
feature-length animated film, produced in defiance of the
prevailing industry gospel that “animation could never
sustain a feature-length film. Disney proved them
spectacularly short-sighted”(Silvey,204).The cells from
which these illustrations are produced have been attributed
to artist Gustaf Tenggren. First published the year before as
Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Book fine, original dust jacket with light rubbing and a few
tears to edges. A lovely near-fine copy, rare and desirable
signed by Disney.
